strange solar gains through atrium roof windows

Hi,

I'm getting some odd results for solar gains through a glass roof to an atrium. I've modelled it as a window object in a flat roof.

Whatever changes I make, the effect on the internal temperature is no more than a degree or two, despite the reports of solar gains in the heat gains/losses graph, where the peak load can vary by a factor of three!

Even replacing the window with a solid roof had no effect, which leads me to wonder if I'm approaching it the wrong way - does the window object need to be vertical to be calculated properly - if so, how should I be doing it?

The other bizarre thing is that using single glazing makes the temperature drop significantly, despite the reported solar gains more than balancing out the increased fabric losses.

Am I doing something wrong or just misunderstanding it?

Many thanks in advance,

Al
