Hello,
When building wall assemblies and creating materials, it seems to always want to replace a 'glass, granular cellular' material no matter what material I happen to be on at the time. Therefore when I click add as new it always changes this material instead of adding a new material. After creating a new material in the place of the 'glass, gc'. This material reappears when I select any other material, make a minor change, click add as new, and viola 'glass, gc' appears again in the material list.
It's workable but obviously buggy.

It is hard to follow what
It is hard to follow what you are describing prairiesmith. So you are in the Layers tab of the Material Library dialog box, yes ? ...and can you please explain where you are using the "add as new" command you mention ?
Please search before posting a question.
material dialogue
Yes, it's in the material library - layers. There is a small arrow, then select edit material data. The layers graphic changes to a material list details box. Once any change is made in this box the add as new button becomes active.
