solar analisys

Oliver,
thanks'u for help me with the solar panel.
My new problem now is to calcolate the right average daily solar exposure on all surfaces of the buildings.
The average value is only 0.2 Wh/m^2 insted of 1500!!!!
I tried to calcolate the shading mask, but the program let me to select only one object per time. I need to select all the surfaces of the 4 Building! If I run the same project with the ECOTECT 5.2, It run correctly and It calculates the right values of average daily solar exposure. I now that is a bug of the ecotect release!!!

Hello Nick,
Yes, Matthew discover this bug whereas Ecotect will not calculate the Ssolar exposure correctly for multiple selected objects.

script

Nik - use the ecotect script i've attached - it does the calculation correctly. After you first use the solar access analysis to do the base calculation, select the surfaces you want to calculate the incident solar radiation for.. and then run the script. it outputs
surface area and solar radiation to an excel spreadsheet.

mj,

Your script is quite helpful. Would you also happen to know a way to script the Solar Access Analysis and the Inter-Zonal Adjacencies. I've looked everywhere but can't seem to find these commands.
Thank you for your help

Hi! I hope the next version

Hi!

I hope the next version release will have corrected this. I also cannot calculate the solar radiation over the building surfaces even after dividing the surfaces with tiles. Ecotect alwas report 0 Wh/m^2 and on just one tile per surface.

Thank you!
