Small Issue With Downloads Solved

Some users have reported problems downloading some of our application files. These have now been solved so you should be able to access all our software without restriction. If you experience any further problems, please let us know by adding a comment to the bottom of this post.

Basically, given the volume of download (nearly 4Gig in 1.5 days), we need to separate download bandwidth from site bandwidth. Thus, the download links redirect you to our separate download server.

Whilst this worked fine for us during testing, obviously different people have different setups and there must be proxy servers and/or firewall rules that prevent this kind of behind-the-scenes redirection. The meant that using the 'Save Target As...' command would sometimes fail and clicking the link would take you to the referring page instead of the redirected page.

We're still redirecting all downloads to our separate server, but doing it a different way.

Thanks heaps to all those people who helped test it and those who brought it to our attention.

Hi there,

I am new to your site and wanting to download ecotect. The website has some information regarding a store opening on july 7th which wasn't there last week. I am in South Africa. Please let me know how I can buy a copy.
Thank you

We have had to re-schedule the store

Hi Dave.

We have had to re-schedule the store opening in order to accomodate the testing and feedback we are getting -- and I'm afraid I have over-looked the updating of our store opening sign... sorry about that.

To keep track of our anticipated schedule there are full details at the "Yes, ECOTECT is on its way..." post.

As soon as our store re-opens you will have no problems purchasing... I'm just sorry that we as yet haven't been able to open as first planned.

Best.

Hi Kurt,

Uhmm...you are not the first one with a bad .zip file...
I do not know what could be wrong.
You can try to download the file from my personal server here:

ECOTECT 5.50 (beta)

Let me know if you have better luck.
I have downloaded the .zip file twice today without any problem.

corrupt zip

comment posted by rds3000 :: 28 August 2006 - 6:31am

Corrupt zip downloads seem to be a common problem with WindowsXP, Norton, and sometimes onboard motherboard virus protection, and not with the server. I still haven't found a reliable fix for my machine, but disabling Norton often works, the problem is intermittent. You should search the web for forums on corrupt zip downloads for your specific configuration.

Good Luck,
David

Downloads from the download page never initiate and I am sent back to the question page after a few seconds. Tried with both IE and with Firefox and no luck.

Download issue

Sa,

Indeed, there appears to be a glitch.
Try to download the file from here, straight from the Companyshed site.
Note that I am not sure that doing so provides a secure way of downloading the file though.

Let me know if that worked.
Olivier
